How to get involved in the conference if you can’t be there

We know that attending the Industry-Wide Conference won’t be possible for many of our members because of work and family commitments, geography and financial restrictions, but we don’t want to miss your voice.

In the Dance UK office we’ve thought long and hard about how we can involve as many members as possible. We want your voices and concerns to feed into the five-year Dance Strategy document we will be publishing on 29 April – International Dance Day.

During the conference we will be having critical discussions about the future of dance that will inform our work for the years to come. We will be collecting data and audience feedback during the conference to help us prepare this document and do our advocacy work.

If you are not able to make it to the conference you can follow along online. Throughout the conference we will be livestreaming several sessions on the Dance UK TV website at, and selected sessions will be available to view online after the event.

We want to hear your responses to these sessions, and the various topics that are covered in this magazine. Your feedback will help us better represent the needs of the dance sector.

Host your own event locally!

If you can’t make it to the conference, why not host your own local event? Take some time to speak with your local colleagues on the topics and issues that are important to you and help us shape our five-year Dance Strategy.

These events can be as informal as meeting in a pub or restaurant or at your local theatre or dance studio. Just record the outcome of your event and send the information to us so that we can ensure that your voice is included when we draft our Dance Strategy.

If you decide to host an event we’d love to hear about it! Contact us at and we can help get the word out about your event.
