A choreographer is naturally preoccupied with the creation of choreography and may neglect important administrative matters. Some choreographers tolerate inadequate conditions of engagement and tread unsurely among the complexities of copyright, insurance and the small print in some contracts. Some continue to suffer in collaborative enterprises from lower status and fees than other participants. The services of a theatrical agent or manager may primarily concern contracts, fees and publicity matters, leaving many other issues for the choreographer to sort out.
