Thomas Michael Voss
Choreographer, Performance Coach, Movement Director and Teacher
Thomas Michael Voss choreographs for both the contemporary dance/arts world and the commercial sector. He is a young, dynamic and versatile choreographer with many facets and styles. Thomas Michael is experienced in Music, Film, TV, Theatre, Opera, Corporate Events and Fashion. He combines his experience with creativity and brings it all together in his work as a choreographer and coach. His skills stretch from Latin/Ballroom, to Ballet, Contemporary, Jazz, African Dance, Flamenco and more. He also can choreograph on Roller Skates and Ice Skatesand is about to choreograph for a professional Olympic gymnast! An eclectic and unique mix of techniques and styles truly and properly executed.
TMV started in Ballroom and Latin American dance and became NRW German Champion in 1992. He went to the UCT Ballet School in South Africa in 1996 and then came to London to study Contemporary Dance Theatre at the Laban Centre for three years.
TMV has worked with Mariah Carey, Craig David, Mark Ronson, James Blunt, the Scissor Sisters, Muse, the Darkness and more. He choreographed the Strictly Come Dancing TV Ident for the BBC series 2006.(Footloose theme) and has worked with The Royal Opera House, The English National Opera, The London City Ballet and The Bolshoi Ballet at the ROH. Most recently he did work on the BBC’s Children In Need with Leon Jackson the X Factor Winner from last year.
Thomas Michael’s recent choreography credits include the movie How To Lose Friends & Alienate People (a dance scene for Kirsten Dunst and Simon Pegg), TV commercials for Samsung, Aunt Bessie’s Yorkshire Puddings, Moben, Nintendo, Ibuleve and Slim-Fast plus music promos for Ministry Of Sound, Sony/BMG, Warner Music and Universal.
Michael was invited as an ambassador for choreography and dance to give live interviews for 16 BBC Local Radio Stations across the UK to promote the Guinness World Record “The Big Dance” part of BBC’s TV program Dancing In The Street.
He is very experienced in coaching and teaching beginners or professionals to help them attain their peak performance.
TMV is teaching Ballroom and Latin dance classes @ Dance Attic, at 8.30pm every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Everyone is welcome. |
