Rosie Kay trained at London Contemporary Dance School.  After graduating she danced in Poland, Germany, the UK and France. In 1999 she choreographed her first evening of work and the Queen presented her the award of Young Achiever in Dance. She went on to win 1st prize at the International Solo Dance Theatre Competition in Stuttgart in 2000. Rosie Kay Dance Company was established in 2004 and tours nationally.  Rosie has also won The Bonnie Bird New UK Choreography Award 2003, Channel Four Creative Class of 2005, was short-listed for the Samuel Becket Theatre Award 2004, and her show The Wild Party was named Cultural Highlight of the Year 2006 by The Sunday Herald. She has created works for Birmingham Royal Ballet, Duckie, Birmingham Rep and Ludus Dance, and assisted the directors Carrie Cracknell at The Young Vic, and Roswitha Gerlitz for Royal Opera House. In 2007 Rosie Kay will be touring The Wild Party and begin to collaborate with the Amsterdam based choreographer Emio Greco.
