Click on the links to the left to read examples of some of the letters sent by Dance UK members to their local MPs, pushing for dance to benefit from the recent additional £100 million which Gordon Brown has given to the new Department of Children, Schools and Families to increase physical education for young people in schools. As dance is part of the PE curriculum in England and in Wales, and is the second most popular physical activity for young people after football, and the most popular for girls, it really deserves to gain additional funding from this new money.
As of 28 September 2007, Dance UK has collected copies of letters written to 50 MPs, more of which we will be posted on this page over the coming weeks. However, we need more of you to write. We are aiming to collect at least 100 letters, one for each of the extra million pledged by Gordon Brown.
