Take a front row seat to shoot some of the UK’s best young dancers at London Contemporary Dance School, expand your portfolio and have your work promoted by The Place.
The Place, London Contemporary Dance School is offering the chance to 25 talented young photographers to take pictures during the dress rehearsals of our graduating dance students.
This is a great opportunity for emerging photographers to broaden their photographic portfolio with dance photography and gain recognition with the help of The Place’s social networks. We will be selecting 25 photographers to join us from Fri 6 – Fri 13 July to photograph our Graduation Performance dress rehearsals; a selection of the best images will be shared with our 10,000+ fans and followers on The Place Facebook Page and Twitter, credited with your name and website.
The Graduation Performances (Fri 6 - Fri 13 July) will feature over 40 graduating students performing specially commissioned works by professional choreographers Janice Garrett, director of Garrett + Moulton Productions in San Francisco, and Rick Nodine, LCDS’s Lecturer in Choreography and Improvisation; The Place’s Artistic Director Richard Alston has also restaged his latest piece A Ceremony Of Carols, originally commissioned by The Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury and Sadler’s Wells, for LCDS graduating students. A selection of the students’ own choreography, chosen from the body of work created over the last year, will complete the programme.
For the dancers, the Graduation Performances represent the culmination of their time at London Contemporary Dance School, completing their BA in Contemporary Dance and Postgraduate Diploma in Advance Dance Studies. During the courses they work with leading artists from around the world, creating, rehearsing and perfecting their skills as dance artists. The diverse range of works shows the breadth of their studies; the excellence of the performance demonstrates the quality of their training.
For your chance to be selected to be one of the 25 photographers that will be admitted to take photographs during the dress rehearsals in the afternoon, all you need to do is tell us in 300 words why you should get this opportunity along with examples of your work at info@theplace.org.uk
