Created in 1989 by The Place’s former Theatre Director John Ashford, Resolution! has made its name for facilitating the often difficult transition from vocational dance training to the professional performance world. The season has helped launch the career of many of the UK’s leading dance artists, including Wayne McGregor, Javier de Frutos, Mark Baldwin, Katie Prince and Hofesh Shechter, and more recently, James Wilton, winner of the Sadler’s Wells Global Dance Contest in 2010, and James Cousins, winner of the inaugural New Adventure Choreographer Award in 2011.
