Dance UK member KS Dance and its Allegrodance touring Company ( which is made up of graduating students and professionals), are working in association with Company Chameleon for their 2 part Spring Tour. This Arts Council supported tour, features partners in residence The Soundscape Chamber Orchestra under the baton of Daniel Parkinson.
The Allegrodance Company will premiere an exciting new children's ballet - Hansel and Gretel. Choreographed by Kate Simmons to an inspiring new score by aspiring new composer for dance, Adam Kornas. Adam has worked closely with the choreographer, musicians and dancers resulting in an interesting 30 minute, narrated ballet which introduces both classical and contemporary dance genres to students and children.
The aim of the Allegrodance Company has always been to take Dance to Communities of low Arts engagement. This tour gives huge opportunities to young dancers, musicians and composers, culminating with an interactive workshop for the audience.
During the workshop (inspired and led on 24 February) by Kevin Edward Turner- Co-Director of Dance UK member Company Chameleon, the audience can experience the creative process with a live orchestra by working on some of the repertoire they have just seen.
