WHEN CAN YOU DO IT?

WHY DO IT?
The qualification is a Level 5 qualification and is recognised internationally. Subjects covered include: Principles of anatomy and physiology, nutrition and hydration, fitness training for dancers, injury prevention and management, studio envrionment recommendations, posture and correct techniques, sequencing, overtraining and recovery, and overall safe practice. Dance practitioners completing the Certificate will be able to evidence their knowledge of safe and effective dance practice to their employers, to dancers – whether professional or enjoying dance as a hobby – and to parents of young dancers. These people can have confidence that the teacher/session leader has the understanding and experience required to work safely and effectively in dance.
WHO CAN TAKE IT?
The qualification is applicable to those working across all sectors of the dance profession; dance teachers, community dance practitioners, rehearsal directors, professional dancers, community dance leaders, and anyone else who is involved in dance of any style. Candidates will need access to dancers, dance students or those participating in dance activities in order to complete this qualification.
