The Advocacy and Lobbying Tool Kit
If you want to start campaigning this is the guide for you.
Dance UK has been working with a proffessional lobbyist, and as part of the free training element of the Dance Summit on 4 October 2006 we put together this free guide. We hope it will be of use to anyone putting together a proposal or working on a campaign.
It outlines political processes and lobbying tools, as well as how the creation of the Dance Manifesto can help individuals and organisations achieve their own goals.

Photographing your work and making a show reel
Photographing and filming your work, shows or choreography are all great ways of recording what you have done, or marketing and promoting a current show.
The technical issues involved in photography and filming can be complex and having at least a basic understanding of them helps when you are briefing a photographer or cameraman. Below are some guidelines and information which might help.
Photographing Dance
This information sheet contains guidelines on technical, creative and legal issues involved in commisioning dance photography. It is written by Helen Burrows, Dance UK's ex-Information and Communications Officer. She is a freelance professional photographer who has photographed widely in the dance and arts world. She is particularly interested in dance photography and portraits. Her work can be seen on her website www.helenburrows.com and she can be contacted at helen@helenburrows.com or 07940 928926 if you would like to discuss commissioning her to shoot your work or show.
Filming Dance
Deveril is a freelance filmaker who wrote the notes below in response to choreographers' questions about filming their work. It contains information on the technical issues involved in creating a show reel of dance work which is of special interest to choreographers. Deveril's contact details can be found at the bottom of the document.
